The Game Awards: Das sind die nominierten Indie Games

Die sechste Ausgabe der Game Awards findet traditionsgerecht im Microsoft Theatre in Los Angeles statt. Moderator Geoff Keighley führt wieder durch die Show. An dem Abend werden Preise in 29 Kategorien vergeben. Für Indie Games gibt es zwei gesonderte Kategorien: Best Independent Game für das beste Indie Game und Fresh Indie Game (ersetzt Best Debut Indie Game) für das Indie-Studio mit dem besten Debütwerk. Die Vorjahressieger in den Indie-Kategorien sind Celeste (Best Independent Games) und The Messenger (Best Debut Indie Game).

Über die beiden ausgewiesenen Kategorien hinaus sind ebenfalls einige Indie Games nominiert. Unter anderem Cris in der Kategorie Art Direction oder Outer Wilds in der Kategorie Game Direction. Mit Cris, Kind Words und Sea of Solitude sind in der Kategroie Games for Impact (Spiele mit einer positiven gesellschaftlichen Aussage) gleich drei Indies vertreten.
